What do we pray for?    Anything & everything. There is nothing too big or too small to bring before God. He cares about all aspects of our lives."....But in everything, by prayer and petition.."   Philippians 4:6
Some people use the  acronym "ACTS" as a model for prayer.
A=  Adoration. Love Him and praise Him for who He is! Psalms  8  &  33
C=  Confession. Admit your sins to God., ask his forgiveness, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you change.   I John 1:9
T=  Thanksgiving.  Thank Him for all the changes in your life, answers to prayer, health, family & friends etc.  Ephesians 5:20
S= Supplication.  Intercession. Pray for the salvation of people who need God. Pray for your family and friends. Pray for their health, spiritual growth, strength, wisdom, financial needs, etc. Pray as the Holy Spirit guides you in what & who to pray for. (A wonderful example of a prayer to pray for fellow Christians is in Colossians 1:9-14.)

I have just tapped into the basics of prayer on this page. If you would like to learn more about prayer, I have listed some good web sites for you to visit, and will have a page with just scriptures that address the subject of prayer. The best thing to do now is to pray. Ask God to help you, and for the Holy Spirit to guide you into learning how & what to pray. Our best example of prayer is the
Lord's Prayer
found in Matthew 6: 9-15.    Jesus showed us how to pray.

Welcome To The
Prayer Room
Hi, I see you're interested in prayer. It is definately a Must for a joyful journey with the Lord. On this page you will find all the who, what, wheres, and whys of prayer. I'll include some good prayer sites, and prayer request sites, as well as some wonderful scripture about prayer. Keep checking back as I will be adding new things as I build this page.
Why should I pray?    We pray to talk to God our Father. It is how we communicate with God, and how we build a relationship with Him. And to have a relationship with God, we must spend time getting to know Him. Not only do we talk with Him during our prayer times, but we should allow for some silence, so we can hear God speak to us in our hearts, and through His word.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present you requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."   Philippians 4:6-7
Who do we pray to?   You might wonder why I included this question. It is obvious to a lot of us, as to whom we pray to, right? Well, some people believe you can pray to the virgin Mary, or to the Saints, or to Budda, or angels, etc. But if you're praying to any of these, you'll get nowhere. God is the only one to whom we should pray. Jesus prayed to God the Father in the "Lord's Prayer" And He is our example.
"And when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your
Father
, who is unseen."     "Our Father , who art in heaven, hallowed be Your name...."              Matthew 6: 6a & 9b

When do we pray?  Anytime and anywhere, (although you should have a set time every day, an appointment with God, if you will.)   "Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."   I Thessalonians  5:16-18

How do we Pray?   Pray with your spirit and mind. "So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind;.."  I Cor. 14:15a  Be real and honest with God. He knows your heart and everything about you, there is nothing that is hidden from Him, so, you might as well be open with him. Let Him fill you with His love and power.  We can pray directly to our Heavenly Father, we do not have to go through a "second party". Pray and believe in faith that God hears and will answer our prayers.  "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me anything in my name, and I will do it."  John 14:13-14       "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."  Hebrews 4:16      "Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is , His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God...."  Hebrews 10:19-21  Jesus is our high priest that intercedes for us.  " ...because He always lives to intercede for them."  Hebrews  7:25b
